I pronounced my first death
and cried while doing it
silent tears
because we had gone on this journey together
The patient, his family and I
I saw the true meaning of the statement made by Patch Adams
"You treat a disease, you win, you lose.
You treat a person,
I guarantee you, you'll win
no matter what the outcome"
Truer words have never been spoken.
